It is ironical that Oedipus made unknowing decisions, which took him closer to his fate of killing his father, marrying his mother, and going into exile as a blind beggar. Even before he killed Duncan, Macbeth knew what he was doing was wrong but he allowed Lady Macbeth and his ambition to cloud his judgement.
